Meet and Greet: Heart in a Knot verse

Friday night. Tony had actually dressed for the event - with Pepper overseeing him the entire day - and had arrived on time. With Pepper on his arm. She wasn't taking any chances. The building was lit up, STARK emblazoned on the side in brilliant white light that was like a beacon. It was bright. It was gaudy.
He loved it.
Wine was being served but nothing harder, Pepper insisting they not ruin another home. Not yet.
So it was, at about eight, Tony was lurking by the door, waiting until he could get a real drink without Pepper keeping him corraled. Yep, that's right. Jarvis was on her side tonight, notifying her when he tried to leave the public floor of the party.

Date: 2012-05-22 02:54 pm (UTC)Friday evening came all too soon and as such, Arthur made his way toward Stark towers dressed to the nines in a bespoke suit. In his line of work, it wasn't normally done to attend public events like this. You didn't want to be recognized, especially if there was a high chance of your photo being taken and used in business journals or media.
With that in mind, when Arthur arrived, he opted instead to go a different route away from the photographers and media wanting to get some word or quote for their articles regarding the opening of Stark Towers. As he stepped inside, Arthur took a close look around. Automatically his mind calculated all the entrances, exits and escape routes should he need one for any reason. You can take the man out of the military but you couldn't take the military out of the man. It was only after that did he pick up a glass of wine off a passing waiter and make his way around, looking for the man he was meant to meet.
It wasn't difficult locating Tony Stark - he had seen enough photos and videos that he could spot the man in the dark. He felt his lips curl up and made his way over to him. "Mr. Stark, it's nice to officially meet you," he said when he was within a few feet of him.
