After certain delightful interludes in the office, as well as teasing the pointman rather mercilessly on the plane ride back to Malibu through teasing looks and comments that wouldn't mean much to anyone but him and Arthur, Tony found himself ready to do nothing but avoid work.

Which left him in a precarious position because he wasn't entirely trying to avoid Arthur.

Sleeping in, he had taken calls he couldn't avoid, made one to Mal that revealed nothing but was designed to ensure she wanted to know more. Having planted that idea in her head, he considered his options. In the end, he went down to the lab.

Surrounded by work, by Dummy and parts and things that could well explode, the chances were good that even if Arthur did seek him out, this would not be a place for the sort of work they were meant to do. It wasn't that he didn't want his mind militarized and protected to keep the suit safe. It was that he was certain that Arthur would do his job, do it quickly and efficiently, and he wasn't quite sure he was ready to let him leave his life. Not yet.

Well, he certainly couldn't deny that. From what he knew and what he and Tony had talked about, they were both fairly guarded when it came to sharing their lives with other people in a serious matter. But, they had decided to try this and he knew, not only were they likewise guarded but they were also stubborn and if they had decided to try and see where it went - they would.

Course, that wasn't to say that that almost-sort-of-maybe scared feeling, where he felt like running away, wasn't there. It was -- he just wanted to see where this went more than that. Least for right now. "You don't have to worry about us, Mal," he said gently and looked at Tony. "We've learned that about each other today."

"I will see you then, Boys," she said, believing his word for it. "Tell me. Should I warn Dominick, or will you be telling him yourself," she asked.

Tony chuckled. "Oh I don't know. I kind of like the idea of springing it on him," he admitted. "What do you think, Arthur?"

Even Arthur had to admit, he rather enjoyed the thought of springing it on him when Tony came with him to dinner. "I have to admit," he said, considering. "I agree with Tony - I enjoy the idea of Dom being surprised. See you soon, Mal," he smiled.

“Oh I am so going to owe this to him. I may make you take darling girl to the grandparents’ when you leave. Miles is in town for a semester,” she admitted. “Ta.”

She hung up before they could say a word. Tony groaned.

“I did not need to think about Dominick getting laid.”

Arthur stayed silent for a split second before making a little face. "There are some things we just do not need to know and that was one of them," he said with a chuckle. He took the phone, turned it off before turning to Tony. "So that's done -- now where were we," he asked, arching a teasing eyebrow.

Tony made a face. "Why did she do that? What did we do to deserve that," he asked, stunned and whimpering and playing because it was fun and they were enjoying it. "So... Here or home," he asked, not even having to say what it was he meant and what he wanted.

Arthur didn't take his gaze away from Tony's. "How much further do we have to the house," he asked, running over the two options. Car...or bedroom.

"You mentioned wanting a bed this time," he said, leaning in and placing his lips on Tony's neck. "Let's wait," he whispered.

"Maybe twenty minutes. Traffic isn't so bad this time of night," he noted, reaching to try and pull Arthur back onto his lap.

"Yeah, let's wait," he agreed. He wanted to be able to take his time with him this time.

Arthur's lips quirked up when Tony tried to pull him back onto his lap. As far as he was concerned, he wanted to wait too - wanted to take their time together to indulge. *We'll wait then," he said and slipped back onto Tony's lap.

“Come here,” he cooed, wrapping his arms around him. “I want you here,” he murmured. “Maybe I like having you in my arms. Even if we’re waiting. Of course, you’ll have to make sure we make it to bed and not the steps,” he teased, thinking about that with a groan.

Arthur had to admit, he didn't mind this -- didn't mind being on Tony's lap and being in his arms. Not that he would probably admit that out loud yet, he was still getting used to it but he liked this. He chuckled and tilted his head to kiss his jaw. "I'll make sure we make it to bed," he said, shifting a little before relaxing. Tomorrow they would work but tonight they would have this.

And Tony would never ask. It was enough just to have this, to hold him close and stroke his fingers along the man's back. "I have every faith in you to arrange what is needed," he said, meaning it and yet being ever so playful at the same time.

"And you'll stay in said bed," he asked, arching a brow in challenge.

"As you should. If anything, I am a man of my word -- most of the time," Arthur granted with a chuckle. When it mattered, he was at least.

He noticed the look Tony directed at him and raised an eyebrow. "I'll stay in said bed until I think it's time to get up so we can get something accomplished tomorrow," he said. But he'd stay in bed until morning if that was the question. Just so long as Pepper didn't kick him out. "But I'll stay until morning unless I get kicked out," he teased.

"I do believe that. You never gave a word not to be seduced by me," he pointed out. "If you had, I would be sad and expect you to resist more. Instead... I get this," he said, leaning in to kiss him slow and deep.

"But through the night," he agreed. "That is part of what I want. I mean, I can fuck you places but if you're in my bed, I kind of want you to stay there for a while," he admitted. "Kicked... Oh god, she won't kick you out."

"Normally, not being seduced is left unsaid. You know, that line between professionalism and un-professionalism," Arthur grinned before allowing himself to be caught up in Tony's kiss - cupping his cheek with one hand.

He licked his bottom lip and nodded. "Yeah, I'll stay in bed through the night," he said with a smile. It would be different sleeping in a bed with another -- not only for sex but for the intimacy of being with another. He wasn't sure exactly how he'd sleep - having slept alone for so long and knowing he had nights when the nightmares would come to bite him in the ass but he'd stay. Arthur ducked his head with a chuckle and pressed a kiss to his jaw.

“You know I have no idea what this line is you speak of. It sounds… Annoying and bothersome,” he said, making a face. “You keep talking about it and I have no idea what you’re talking about.” And he refused to acknowledge that he did either. Not if it meant him having to obey some kind of rules.

“Oh good. I’m pretty sure it’s kidnapping if I cuffed you to bed to make sure you stayed,” he admitted, canting his head to offer his jaw to Arthur. “And Pepper might even side with you against me if I did.”

Arthur chuckled and bit down on the line of his jaw before sucking on the skin soothingly. "I think," he said, now just being a bit of a smartass because that's how he worked and he was amused by Tony's responses, "that you know very well this line but you like to conveniently ignore it." His tone was teasing though and knew very well that Tony played by his own set of rules.

"Kinky," he quipped and pressed heated kisses along his jaw with little nips. "Think she would," he asked with a chuckle, moving in closer to him.

It was a little thing, being playful during the drive. Yet it was the things that had Tony thinking about Arthur as much as he was. How could he not with moments like this. "When you're me, that's allowed. When you're me, you can do it too," he said, as if that made any sense. He didn't care if it did. He was enjoying himself.

"Are you surprised? You have no idea, Arthur... But you will if you keep doing that," he groaned, arms tightening around him, fingers sliding along his hips.

Arthur pulled his mouth back from Tony's jaw and looked at him. Maybe it had been the day that they had and knowing they were trying this but -- he felt looser with Tony. Relaxed, even. "Ahh, I see," he mused with a knowing chuckle. Tony wasn't the only one who was enjoying himself, Arthur was too.

His eyebrows rose and tilted his head. "Mm, maybe a tiny bit but I think I want to know more, Mr. Stark."

Damn but that was a huge part of it for Tony already. Arthur met him tease for taunt, wicked words for truths. Not many had ever kept up with Tony like that and the way that Arthur managed it had him going in a million directions and all of them fantastic. Not even all of them sexual, either.

"I think you're going to find out," he said, leaning in to brush his lips over Arthr's jaw. "And I think it's going to be sooner than later."

Arthur tilted his head so Tony could have access to his jaw, groaning low. "Mm, is that right," he asked, settling in closer to him - least as much as he could on the seat. "Looking forward to it."

He liked the fact that Tony could keep up with him and that he could keep up with Tony - that there wasn't something that he would say that would make the other man blanch. Or at least, there haven't been yet.

Thought of the bed at home were quickly leaving Tony's mind. Not with the way Arthur tasted, or the sounds he was making. There was something about that low rumble that went straight through Stark, leaving him making a soft moan of his own. "You're supposed to be the one making sure we get back to bed," he pointed out.

And he wasn't sure that was happening, hand massaging Arthur's thigh, sliding up his leg.

"Mm, and I will," Arthur said, promptly. "Doesn't mean there can't be any teasing before we get there, right? You know - foreplay, I believe they call it." He was teasing of course but fuck it felt good to feel Tony's hand on his thigh and sliding along his leg slowly.

The thought of waiting and holding off until they got back to the house and waiting until either of them hit the bed was pretty quickly escaping his mind. He pressed his forehead against Tony's and inhaled slowly. "I can move and we can truly wait until we get to the house."

"Foreplay," he repeated, speaking slow as if considering just what that meant. "I think I've heard this word before," he said, still considering just what he was saying. "Before now I was pretty sure it was a curse word," he added, tapping at his lips with one finger as he watched Arthur, trying not to grin.

His arms tightened around Arthur, pulling him closer. "That's not happening. I don't see that as an option at all," he swore to him, leaning in. The kiss was sudden, needful and expressing more emotions than he might have imagined from himself.

"Might have heard it once or twice," Arthur teased him before he chuckled. He watched Tony with amusement and made a soft sound when his arms tightened around him and he was pulled into a kiss.

"Mm, no," he mumbled against Tony's lips as he returned the hard and needing kiss. Arthur slid a hand into Tony's hair and closed his eyes a little with a soft sound. He didn't need any other words, not right now with Tony's lips on his. He slowly pulled back and licked his lips. "Waiting -- 'member?" Though the more they were doing this and his hardening cock was starting to make Arthur want to give in and not wait until they got to the house.
