Return to Malibu - PSL for Arthur

After certain delightful interludes in the office, as well as teasing the pointman rather mercilessly on the plane ride back to Malibu through teasing looks and comments that wouldn't mean much to anyone but him and Arthur, Tony found himself ready to do nothing but avoid work.

Which left him in a precarious position because he wasn't entirely trying to avoid Arthur.

Sleeping in, he had taken calls he couldn't avoid, made one to Mal that revealed nothing but was designed to ensure she wanted to know more. Having planted that idea in her head, he considered his options. In the end, he went down to the lab.

Surrounded by work, by Dummy and parts and things that could well explode, the chances were good that even if Arthur did seek him out, this would not be a place for the sort of work they were meant to do. It wasn't that he didn't want his mind militarized and protected to keep the suit safe. It was that he was certain that Arthur would do his job, do it quickly and efficiently, and he wasn't quite sure he was ready to let him leave his life. Not yet.

"We met because a good friend to us both recommended the other. We fucked because we like men when they're the right ones," he said, grinning, loving the being right as well as the teasing Arthur. Teasing Arthur was the most fun, he was finding.

"I can drive us to a secluded place if that's what it takes," he teased with a grin.

Arthur chuckled and just sent him an amused smirk. "Because someone couldn't keep his hands to himself and wait," he teased. Though they both knew it wasn't just someone but more like both of them.

He hummed and tilted his head. "Mm, if I have to wait until tonight, I think you do too," he teased. "Unless of course, you don't want to wait until the restaurant." It was fun, this teasing between them.

"I'm a selfish bastard. Haven't we already covered that. Besides, been blown up. I know what it means to not try and go for what you want because you don't know how soon it will end." He'd had several times he thought it was over, and he wasn't going to die with regrets.

"Wound up has a lot of ideas we can use," he noted, smirking. "But if you don't want to, not as if I would make you," he said, sounding coy and not as if he was warning him.

Throughout their entire conversation, Arthur's hands hadn't left Tony's chest and he hadn't taken a step away, just stayed close to the older man. His lips curled up and he nodded. "That makes a lot of sense," he admitted.

He chuckled and sent him a smirk. "Now, I didn't say I didn't want to."

"Wait, you're saying I'm right? Didn't they tell you to never do that," he asked, grinning. "Definitely keeping you around," he said, winking at Arthur.

"Oh? Do you now? Maybe I should have you tell me about it."

"Well, as you said, we have been through something sort of like this conversation before," Arthur mused, giving him a smirk. He chuckled and went to take a step away from Tony. "Mm, nope - I think it's time for us to go on this tour through Malibu," he smirked. "And stop at this private spot that you were thinking of."

"If that's what you want," he said cheerfully. "Give me five to freshen up," he said, batting his lashes and I'll meet you at the garage," he asked, arching a brow.

"And no doubt, it's what you want as well," Arthur said with an amused smirk. He nodded. "I need to freshen up as well so I'll meet you there," he agreed before walking around Tony and toward the doorway to return to his room. Well -- the room he had been given during the job.

He laughed. "I'm a hedonist with an ego. Course I want it. All the time," he said with a smirk, turning to watch Arthur walk away.

"Meet you in fifteen."

He took that time to go to his closet, changing to fresh jeans and a tee, the dark fabric mostly obscuring the arc reactor for the most part.

Slipping on loafers, he grabbed his wallet and keys, heading to the garage and ignoring the tightness of excitement and nerves at the pit of his stomach.

Arthur chuckled and made his way toward his bedroom and changed into a pair of jeans, a white button down shirt and a jacket to go over it, in case he should want one. He grabbed his sunglasses and his wallet before heading out of the bedroom. Arthur wasn't sure what was going to happen -- he was excited and beyond that, he was also nervous but it was a good sort of nervous.

He was looking at the cars in Tony's garage when the other man finally appeared. Oh, but the man looked good. "Have a great collection here," he said with a grin.

Coming up behind Arthur, Tony's gaze was taken with the point man more than the vehicles. After all, he saw them every day.

"I do try," he said, chuckling. "Got a preference?"

Arthur grinned at him. "No preference. Most of these are cars that either are far out of my price range or if they're not, they're just on this side of too flashy for my career. Which is your favorite?"

He considered them and then nodded. "This one," he said, leading the way to an Acura convertible. "It's one of a kind. They made it for me in hopes I'll speak for their product," he admitted, grinning as he crossed to it.

"JARVIS, keys," he said, holding out his hand. Something moved overhead and then the keys dropped into his hand.

Arthur's eyebrows rose as Tony lead them over to the convertible. Now that was nice. His lips curled up as he looked at him. "And did you," he asked, walking to the passenger's side door.

"Nope. I just kept the car," he said with a grin. "I'm driving it. I'm seen it in. I don't speak for anyone but Stark Industries," he said, firing up the car.

At the far end of the garage, the door opened, letting sunlight pour in as they sped out and onto the road.

Arthur couldn't help it, he laughed and settled into the seat. "Good a reason as any," he mused, resting his head back. He slid on a pair of sunglasses as Tony sped out. "I'm not going to have to worry about my life, am I," he asked, teasingly.

"I fly in that suit and save lives and you're worried about my driving," he asked, gaping at Arthur.

And staring at Arthur and not the road as he pushed down on the accelerator, speeding up.

"Who said I was worried," he asked, a broad grin spreading across his lips. Fuck, but he hadn't had this much fun in a long while. Arthur kept his gaze on Tony's, feeling the rush of the car speeding up slide through him practically making him giddy. His hand found its way onto Tony's thigh and gave it a squeeze.

“You asked. That is me saying you’re worrying,” he teased, still not looking away. It wasn’t just that his peripheral vision that let him do this, but the knowledge there was no one on this stretch of road. Right until…

Just as he reached that turn, that change in the road, Arthur squeezed his thigh. The car swerved, aiming for the cliff on one side then the drop off on the other before settling back straight just as Tony jerked the wheel to make another hairpin turn.

“Well then,” he said, laughing though there was a nervous tinge to it. “Maybe you should worry.”

Despite himself, Arthur found himself snorting in amusement. "I'm not worried," he said, simply. His breathing was elevated but it was a rush. Despite only knowing Tony for what accounted for three days, or two and a half days at most, Arthur wasn't worried. He rubbed Tony's thigh and made himself comfortable in the seat. His eyes were on Tony the entire time, the confidence that poured out of every pore of his body.

He drove, for the recklessness of those first moments, like a man who knew what he wanted and where he was going. Soon enough New York would become his center of operations but, until that time, Malibu was his home and he loved it. He loved the sun, the ocean vistas bordered by a highway known for its views and hairpin curves. It was that Malibu he hoped to show Arthur, sparing him a glance as he turned away from the ocean route.

“You hungry? Thinking In and Out and then from there.” Tony and burgers. Some days he just couldn’t be torn away from them. Especially when no one was around to warn him from the grease and deliciousness.

As much as Arthur loved New York, loved the places he's been to and got to see while working, there was something to be said about the beauty of California. He raised his eyebrows when Tony turned away from the ocean and looked at him. "In and out," he asked with a grin, never having considered that Tony would eat there.

"I could go for a burger," he nodded.

He snorted at that question. "Tell me that is more about me eating there than not knowing what it is. I may worry about you going into my subconscious if you don't know the world's best burger," he pointed out, smirking as he swung off the freeway and along narrow city streets.

"It's definitely more about you eating there," Arthur chuckled, looking at him. "Mal enjoys eating there and so whenever I visit this coast, we always visit at least once."

"She may have been the one to introduce me," he admitted. "Watching that sexy, oh so French beauty indulging like that is a treat," he said, laughing as he turned and spun into the parking lot. He pulled into a space without so much as a screech of tires.

"Come on then, Sexy." Speaking of sexy creatures.
